Rampur Bushahr, Dec 16
SJVN Limited’s Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station has issued an alert for residents living in Rampur Bushahr and the adjoining Sutlej river belt, warning of a sudden rise in the river’s water level on Wednesday due to dam operations.

According to project authorities, routine maintenance of the dam’s radial gates will be carried out, during which around **170 cumecs of water** will be released into the Sutlej River between **11 a.m. and 1 p.m.** The sudden discharge is expected to significantly increase the river’s flow, posing a serious risk to life and property near the riverbanks and low-lying areas.

The local administration has urged residents and visitors to stay completely away from the Sutlej river during the specified time and requested locals to help spread awareness to prevent any untoward incident.
