Dharamshala, Nov 26

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, while speaking to the media after the first day of the Assembly session, accused the Himachal Pradesh government of undermining constitutional systems in the name of “system change.” He alleged that the state government is deliberately obstructing the State Election Commission in the conduct of Panchayat elections by misusing the pretext of disaster management, despite failing to complete damage assessment and relief work even after five months. He also criticised the government for avoiding replies to important questions related to employment, appointments and reappointments during its tenure.

During his journey from Delhi to Kangra, Jairam Thakur met Himachal’s Women’s Kabaddi World Cup winners Pushpa Rana, Bhawana Thakur and Champa Thakur, congratulating them for bringing pride to the nation and the state. Later, he visited the ancestral home of martyr Wing Commander Namansh Syal in Nagarota Bagwan and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family, calling his sacrifice for the nation unforgettable and irreplaceable.
