Deputy Commissioner Kullu, Torul S. Ravish, announced that the district has officially constituted the District Ujjwala Committee to ensure effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) 3.0. The committee, chaired by the DC, will oversee monitoring, verification, and rollout of the scheme.
Under Ujjwala 3.0, eligible adult women from poor households will receive a free LPG connection worth ₹2,050, including security deposit, regulator, safety hose, DGCC booklet, inspection, installation and documentation charges. The scheme aims to provide clean cooking fuel, reduce health hazards, and promote women’s empowerment.
Applicants must submit a KYC form, identity and address proof, ration card, Aadhaar cards of all adult family members, bank details for subsidy, and a deprivation declaration. Mandatory home inspection has been introduced to ensure genuine beneficiaries receive the connection.
Families with an existing LPG connection, higher income, government employment, large landholding, or ownership of certain assets and vehicles will be considered ineligible.
Eligible women may apply online through the official PMUY, Indane, HP Gas or Bharat Gas portals, or visit their nearest LPG distributor. The District Ujjwala Committee will supervise beneficiary verification and implementation to ensure clean cooking access reaches deserving families.
