Jairam Calls Transfer of 41 Doctors “Political Vendetta”

1 min read

Mandi, November 13: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur launched a sharp attack on the state government, accusing Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of working with “political vengeance” and deliberately weakening key institutions in Mandi district.

Reacting to the transfer of 41 doctors from Nerchowk Medical College, Thakur said the move reflects the government’s bias against Mandi. He alleged that ever since Congress came to power, institutions are either being shut down or systematically weakened under the guise of “system change.”

Thakur said even after repeated assurances, the government failed to install an MRI machine at Nerchowk Medical College, and not a single meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti’s governing body has been convened in three years.

He accused the CM of attempting to downsize or relocate major institutions, including Sardar Patel University and Atal Medical University, to politically benefit the Congress. He warned that shifting Atal Medical University from Nerchowk to Sarkaghat would face strong opposition.

Thakur said the people of Mandi know who brought development and who is dismantling institutions. He asserted that CM Sukhu’s “vindictive decisions” may cost Congress heavily in the 2027 elections.
