Jairam Thakur Accuses INDIA Bloc of Misleading Bihar with “False Guarantees”

Chandigarh, November 3:

Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has alleged that the INDIA alliance is attempting to mislead voters in Bihar with the same “false guarantees” that he claims were used in Himachal Pradesh.

Addressing the “Meet the Press” program at Chandigarh Press Club, Thakur said Congress and its allies are repeating the “tactics of deception” that “stole the mandate” in Himachal. He further accused Himachal CM of “spreading lies in Bihar” and presenting the previous BJP government’s welfare schemes as Congress achievements.

Thakur asserted that “good intent, not fake promises,” drives real governance, citing various welfare initiatives implemented during his tenure without announcing guarantees.

He also criticized the state government for allegedly targeting journalists, weakening environmental safeguards under Section 118, and allowing mafias to flourish — including illegal mining and drug networks.

On disaster management concerns, he said the BJP has urged the Centre for long-term environmental protection measures to prevent recurring large-scale losses in Himachal Pradesh.
