Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur criticized the state government for its failure to address the grievances of pensioners, calling it “deeply unfortunate that senior citizens are forced to protest on the streets during the festive season.” He said that despite serving the state for decades, pensioners are waiting for their rightful dues, including pending medical reimbursements for over three years.
Thakur added that the government’s inaction reflects “insensitivity and administrative failure,” accusing it of indulging in propaganda instead of resolving real issues. He urged the Chief Minister to focus on governance rather than internal political conflicts.
Expressing concern over the recent Baddi murder case, Thakur said the incident shows the collapse of law and order in the state and demanded immediate action to ensure public safety.
He extended Dhanteras greetings to all citizens, wishing peace, prosperity, and recovery for disaster-affected regions of Himachal Pradesh.
