Dr. Kalam’s Vision Inspires Young Minds at Palampur Science Centre

The Palampur Science Centre marked the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam with a day-long celebration featuring a Popular Science Lecture and an Open House Quiz Competition. The event aimed to rekindle scientific curiosity and patriotic spirit among students while paying tribute to India’s beloved “Missile Man.”
The programme began with heartfelt tributes to Dr. Kalam’s extraordinary journey, underlining his dedication, perseverance, and contributions to India’s missile and space programmes.
Dr. Ruchi Chauhan, Assistant Professor, delivered the keynote lecture on “The Life and Works of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.” She highlighted his pioneering role in India’s defence research and his lifelong mission to inspire youth through science and education. “Dr. Kalam’s life teaches us that knowledge and determination are the most powerful rockets for progress,” Dr. Chauhan remarked, urging students to emulate his ideals of discipline and innovation.
An Open House Quiz followed, drawing participants from Stanford World School (Dharamshala), Parmarth International School (Baijnath), Paras Public School (Bharwana) and Anant Vidya Niketan Public School (Kotli). Around 70 students and teachers took part in the event, which organizers described as both enlightening and inspiring.
The celebration concluded with a collective pledge to uphold Dr. Kalam’s vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” emphasizing the power of science, ethics, and education in nation-building.
