Shimla, October 11 — Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh inaugurated the newly constructed Panchayat Ghar at Barmu-Kelti in the Kasumpti Assembly constituency. Built at a cost of ₹1.14 crore, the multi-storey building includes offices for the Pradhan, Panchayat Secretary, Technical Assistant, a meeting hall, a Common Service Centre, and two toilets.
Singh said that earlier, the Panchayat operated from a rented room, but the new building will now provide better facilities to residents. He added that 17 Panchayat Ghars are under construction in the Kasumpti constituency, while 125 have been approved across the state in the last two years.
He also reviewed local development projects, announcing the expansion of the Kelti Patwar office budget from ₹12 lakh to ₹42 lakh and the construction of an additional 3-lakh-litre water tank to improve water supply. Plans for a community hall, playground, and parking facilities were also discussed with local representatives.
