26 Dairy Cooperative Societies Formed in Shimla District

Shimla, October 4, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap chaired the District Milk Development Committee meeting today, reviewing progress of dairy development schemes. He directed officials to provide timely technical and financial support to cooperatives to boost milk production at the rural level.

The DC informed that 57 panchayats in the district produce over 200 liters of milk daily, and dairy cooperatives are being established in these areas. So far, 26 such cooperatives have been formed. He asked Block Development Officers to expedite the process to ensure local farmers benefit.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Neeraj Mohan, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry, and other officials.
