9th Foundation Day at HPNLU Shimla Celebrated with Innovation, Talent, and Community Service

Shimla, September 27, 2025 – Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, celebrated its 9th Foundation Day with a vibrant weeklong series of events reflecting the institution’s commitment to social service, academic excellence, creativity, and innovation.

The celebrations commenced with the 4th Annual Blood Donation Camp, organized by the Rotaract Club of HPNLU. The camp, inaugurated by Registrar Mr. Alok Kumar and Dean Academics Dr. Santosh Sharma, witnessed enthusiastic participation of students and faculty. Prof. Saxena, the Chief Guest, praised the noble initiative, highlighting the University’s role in fostering compassionate citizens.

A demo moot court on “AI and Culpable Homicide”, organized by the Moot Court Committee, explored emerging intersections between law and technology. With expert judges including Dr. Sahil Malhotra, Prof. (Dr.) Girjesh Shukla, and Dr. Mritunjay Kumar, the event provided students with invaluable exposure to contemporary legal challenges.

On the cultural front, literary competitions such as Flash in Five, Spin a Tale, and Wall of Words, initiated by Dr. Ruchi Raj Thakur and coordinated by the Student Enrichment Cell, showcased students’ creativity and intellectual spirit.

Adding entrepreneurial energy, the flagship event LEXCELERATE ’25 encouraged law students to pitch legal startup ideas. With participation from leading institutions nationwide and expert evaluation by distinguished judges, the competition fostered innovation and practical problem-solving in the legal field.

The celebrations also featured AAGAZ 2025, the Freshers’ Party, which welcomed new students with performances, talent showcases, and camaraderie. Titles including Mr. Fresher (Bhavye Bansal) and Ms. Fresher (Anant) were conferred, with the evening concluding in a spirited jam session and dinner.

Through these diverse initiatives – spanning service, scholarship, creativity, entrepreneurship, and community spirit – HPNLU, Shimla, reaffirmed its vision of nurturing responsible, innovative, and well-rounded legal professionals.
