Mandi, 26 September: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has demanded strict action against those responsible for the recent violence in Leh, stating that “there is no place for such incidents in a democracy.” Speaking to the media after inaugurating BJP’s new district office in Mandi, Thakur said the central government is closely monitoring the situation and will ensure appropriate action.
Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, he said the Congress leader, whose party had once “stolen votes to stay in power,” has no credibility today and the nation does not take his words seriously.
Earlier, Thakur inaugurated BJP’s temporary district office in Mandi and stated that land for a permanent office is being identified. He also interacted with traders in Seraj constituency, discussing the benefits of “Next Generation GST reforms,” calling them a historic step towards transparency, ease of business, and relief for common citizens.
