Kangra Sept 16
Heavy rains triggered a massive landslide in Lower Gared Voola Manja village of Bachhwai Panchayat under Thural tehsil, Kangra district, on Tuesday morning, causing severe damage and putting the entire village at risk. The land in the area has sunk nearly 10 feet, and the sliding continues, creating panic among residents.

Around a dozen houses are under threat, with 4 homes completely buried under debris and several others left uninhabitable. Vehicles and valuable household items were also destroyed. Fortunately, there was no loss of life as neighboring villagers rushed to help and evacuated the affected families to safer locations.

Thural Tehsildar Rajesh Jaryal confirmed that all residents and their livestock were safely rescued, while SDM Dhera, along with his team, visited the site, shifted families to secure shelters, and provided immediate relief. Authorities have restricted access to the danger zone as the landslide is still active.
