DC Shimla Prioritizes Apple Crop Transport, 90 Link Roads Restored in Day

Shimla, September 6, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap emphasized that transporting apple crops to markets is the administration’s foremost priority. Following his directions, SDMs across Shimla district inspected restoration works on rain-hit roads. Despite persistent bad weather, field staff and deployed machinery restored 90 link roads in a single day. On September 5, a total of 242 link roads and 4 main routes, including Taklech–Rampur, Jeori–Ghanvi, Dett–Jeori, and NH-707 at Blyukyari, were blocked. As of September 6 evening, 152 link roads remain closed, with restoration works continuing at full pace to ensure smooth transportation for orchardists.
