Himachal’s Hamirpur Records Over ₹194 Crore Loss in Monsoon

Hamirpur, September 3: The total loss in Hamirpur district during this monsoon season has crossed ₹194.50 crore. The Water Resources Department reported the highest loss of ₹94.73 crore, followed by the Public Works Department at ₹89.54 crore, HPSEBL ₹1.83 crore, and the Education Department ₹1.85 crore. Health and Fisheries departments reported minor damages of ₹1.5 lakh and ₹55,000 respectively.

Agriculture and Horticulture departments reported losses of ₹1.15 lakh and ₹18.06 lakh on crops. Structural damages include 51 fully destroyed and 284 partially damaged kutcha houses, along with 4 fully and 19 partially damaged pucca houses, totaling over ₹3.38 crore in residential loss. Additionally, 38 other buildings suffered ₹14.70 lakh in damages, 126 dhangas fell causing ₹1.11 crore loss, and 371 gaushalas were destroyed with losses around ₹1.69 crore.

Deputy Commissioner and DDMA Chair Amarjeet Singh directed all field officers to promptly report damages to ensure timely assistance to affected families.
