Sirmaur District Schools Closed on September 2 Due to Red Alert

Nahan, September 1, 2025 – The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Sirmaur, has ordered the closure of all government and private educational institutions, including Anganwaris, on 2nd September 2025 as a precautionary measure following a Red Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla. The alert warns of very heavy rainfall at some places and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated locations, increasing the risk of landslides, flash floods, uprooting of trees, and road blockages. Teachers and staff are also exempted from attending work, though institutions are encouraged to conduct online classes to keep students engaged.
