BJP Allegations: Govt Suppresses Key Assembly Questions
1 min read
Shimla, 1 September 2025 – BJP MLAs Sudhir Sharma, Ashish Sharma, and senior spokesperson Trilok Jamwal accused the Himachal Pradesh government of deliberately removing crucial questions from the assembly agenda to avoid scrutiny. The leaders claimed that questions related to “Vote for Cash” schemes and excise policy were mysteriously withdrawn just before the session, despite being publicly listed on the assembly’s official website earlier.
The MLAs alleged that despite the model code of conduct, the government transferred large sums to women’s groups, effectively amounting to a “Vote for Cash” exercise. They also questioned the government’s excise policy and revenue claims, noting that while the Chief Minister had touted a 45% increase in state revenue, actual figures showed only a 4% rise. BJP leaders said the government is avoiding transparency in the assembly and withholding information, including lists of excise defaulters, from public scrutiny.
