All Educational Institutions in Shimla District to Remain Closed on September 1

Shimla, August 31, 2025: In view of continuous heavy rainfall, landslides, falling trees, and road blockages across Shimla district, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap (IAS), Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, has ordered the closure of all government and private educational institutions on September 1, 2025 (Monday).

The order applies to schools, colleges, ITIs, polytechnics, coaching centres, nursing institutes, and Anganwadi centres across the district. The decision follows the IMD’s forecast of more heavy rain in the next 24 hours, prioritizing the safety of students.
