Shimla, August 29, 2025: Himachal Pradesh Congress President and former MP Pratibha Singh appealed to people not to believe in false rumors regarding floods, cloudbursts, and heavy rains in the state, stressing that only verified government information should be trusted. She said rumors only create fear and panic, and people must remain alert to protect their lives and property.

Reacting to a BJP MP from Mandi, Singh alleged that she misleads people with false claims about the ₹2,200 crore central relief package and has little concern for her constituency. Singh highlighted the devastation caused in Mandi, Kullu, and Manali due to heavy rains, cloudbursts, and floods, with the Mandi-Kullu-Manali highway severely damaged.

She urged all BJP MPs from Himachal to rise above politics, meet the Prime Minister, and demand a special financial package for speedy reconstruction. Singh also expressed grief over the destruction in Bharmaur and Saloon village of Chamba, urging the administration to extend all possible help to the affected families. She further appealed to residents of Holi Bazaar to stay cautious amid ongoing land erosion.
