Shimla, August 26, 2025 – Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania interacted with 160 students from HPU Law Department, 16 from Govt. College Darlaghat, and 90 from Govt. High School Ghaighat who visited the Assembly Secretariat today to witness the proceedings of the 7th day of the Monsoon Session.
Addressing the students, Pathania shared his journey from being an advocate at Chamba District Court in 1981 to becoming the youngest MLA in 1985. He emphasized that law education was his strength in overcoming challenges and ensuring free justice for the poor. He underlined the role of legislature, executive, and judiciary as pillars of governance, highlighting their interdependence and balance in democracy.
Pathania also inspired law students by recalling freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Motilal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose, and others who pursued law abroad and later played a vital role in India’s freedom struggle.
The students actively engaged by asking questions related to the parliamentary system, legislators’ role, council chamber, centre-state relations, and budget, to which Pathania responded in detail. He concluded by extending his best wishes for the students’ bright future.
