Jairam Accuses Congress of “Stealing Votes” Through False Guarantees

1 min read

Shimla, August 22 – Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Sukhu-led Congress government, alleging that it came to power in Himachal Pradesh by “stealing votes through false guarantees.” He said the Congress should apologize to the people and Chief Minister Sukhu must resign for betraying public trust.

Thakur accused the government of ignoring most constituencies and focusing only on select assembly segments, leaving both ruling and opposition MLAs dissatisfied. He further said Congress is divided into multiple factions, with its own guarantees now haunting the party.

The BJP leader claimed that the Sukhu government has failed to deliver on its tall promises, including employment guarantees, and is guilty of betraying the mandate of the people.
