Solan, August 15 – Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a spirited blend of patriotism, creativity, and community participation. The NSS unit, in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), NCC, and Koshish Club, organized a colourful *Tiranga Yatra* and an inspiring art competition for junior school students, making the occasion memorable for all.
The day began with the national flag unfurling by the Dean Academic and Registrar, setting the tone for the celebrations. The *Tiranga Yatra* witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, who marched across the campus carrying the Tricolour with pride. Accompanied by patriotic songs and slogans, the parade served as a vivid reminder of India’s hard-earned freedom and the responsibility to safeguard its ideals.
A highlight of the event was the drawing competition for young students from nearby schools, based on the themes *Operation Sindoor* and *Har Ghar Tiranga*. The artworks—full of vibrant colours and heartfelt messages—reflected the children’s deep patriotic spirit. Prizes were awarded to the top three participants for their creativity, thematic interpretation, and presentation.
The celebration, coordinated by Dr. Nishant Jain, NSS Programme Coordinator, was lauded for not only showcasing unity and cultural pride but also nurturing the next generation’s understanding of independence and civic responsibility.
