Cyber Police Nabs Fraudster from Maharashtra in ₹78 Lakh ‘Digital Arrest’ Scam

Cyber Police Northern Range, Dharamshala, arrested a fraudster from Maharashtra involved in a ₹78 lakh scam against a woman from Tapovan. The accused posed as a police official in 2023, threatened the victim with a false legal case, and coerced her into transferring money for a fake bail process. Police recovered ₹5 lakh from the suspect. Authorities urge citizens to report suspicious calls to Cyber Helpline 1930.
