Notification to Shift Horticulture College in Siraj is Shameful: Dr. Rajeev Bindal

1 min read

Shimla, July 26 – Himachal BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal has strongly condemned the Congress-led state government for issuing a notification to shift the Horticulture College from Siraj, terming it “insensitive and shameful”, especially in the wake of the recent natural calamity in Mandi district.

Dr. Bindal said that while the people of Himachal Pradesh stood united with the affected areas of Siraj, Nachan, Karsog, and Dharampur, offering essential supplies and financial aid, the state government has rubbed salt into their wounds. He criticized the government for acting in a dictatorial manner, filing FIRs against over 60 people who raised their voices in protest.

He alleged that Minister Jagat Singh Negi, upon visiting Siraj, took the decision hastily without public consultation. Calling the government inefficient and suppressive, Bindal accused it of failing to serve the people and burdening them with taxes during times of crisis.

“This is not just about Mandi; similar suppression is happening in Sirmaur and other parts of the state through false political cases,” Bindal added, calling the move a blot on democracy and demanding its immediate rollback.
