Shimla, June 27, 2025 — A delegation from the Himachal Pradesh Outsourced Workers’ Federation, led by State President Kamal Chauhan, met with Hon’ble Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to raise long-pending demands, including regular contract renewals and the implementation of the promised salary hike announced during the previous budget session.
President Kamal Chauhan expressed concerns over outsourced employees struggling to manage their livelihoods on minimal wages and highlighted delays in salary revisions and contract renewals in various departments.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the government is actively working on formulating a comprehensive policy for outsourced employees. He explained that certain legal challenges have delayed the process but reiterated the government’s commitment to finding a solution. He also assured that a notification regarding the revised minimum wages would be issued soon.
Federation General Secretary Dharmendra Sharma stated that outsourced workers from across the state will gather in Shimla during the upcoming monsoon session to press for the policy’s notification. He added that only after the policy is formally announced and the Chief Minister is duly honoured, will the workers return home.
