1 min read

Hamirpur, 24 June 2025 – In an effort to ensure immediate medical aid for road accident victims, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, in collaboration with the National Health Authority, has facilitated cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in empanelled hospitals.

Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh informed that victims can avail of this facility within 7 days of the accident, provided treatment is sought at Ayushman-empanelled hospitals.

Citizens are encouraged to help accident victims during the critical ‘Golden Hour’ — the first hour post-accident — which can save lives.

Good Samaritans who assist victims by taking them to hospitals will not face police harassment and may also be recognized with the ‘Good Samaritan Award’ by the Ministry.
