Shimla Police Manages Tourist Rush and Exam Security with Precision

Over the extended weekend (20–23 June 2025), the Himachal Pradesh Police, District Shimla, efficiently managed a record tourist inflow of over 60,000 vehicles, while also ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the JOA (IT) Examination at 13 centers for 4,305 candidates.
To maintain order, 189 traffic personnel and 85 additional police staff were deployed. 25 motorcycle riders and tow-away cranes addressed 11 minor accidents and vehicle breakdowns. Despite high traffic, most exam candidates reached on time, while about 30 latecomers were denied entry as per rules.
Shimla Police emphasized that traffic arrangements helped the majority of candidates and requested media to verify facts before publishing reports.
