UHF Nauni celebrates 11th International Yoga Day

The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni on Saturday morning. The event was organized at the university sports complex and saw participation from students, faculty, and staff, alongside a visiting team from Dhyanyog Ashram and Ayurveda Shodh Sansthan, Kathni, Subathu, led by Yogtirth Ji Maharaj.

Dr. Manish Sharma, Dean of the College of Horticulture, welcomed the participants and shared insights into the significance and origin of International Yoga Day. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel highlighted the importance of yoga as a holistic practice for maintaining physical and mental well-being. He emphasized that while modern advancements have brought numerous comforts, they have also contributed to rising lifestyle-related health issues. He urged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine to lead a healthier and stress-free life.

Yogtirth Ji Maharaj led the yoga and meditation sessions, and also spoke on the themes of yoga, spirituality and simple living. He emphasized that yoga and meditation are not just physical practices but a complete way of life that can be seamlessly integrated into everyday living. During the two-hour session, participants were introduced to various yoga asanas, their proper techniques, and associated health benefits. The engaging session concluded with a peaceful meditation practice.
