Shimla, June 14, 2025 – In a bid to bolster educator well-being, the CBSE hosted a comprehensive Stress Management Workshop at St. Thomas’ School, Shimla. Fifty-five teachers from St. Thomas’ and nearby schools—including Trinity International School Fagu, Rashtriya Military School Chail, and Chapslee School—participated in interactive sessions led by CBSE resource person Dr. Rakesh Sachdeva and Dr. Shivani Sharma, Principal of Cecil Convent Senior Secondary School, Ambala Cantt.
The day began with Principal Vidhupriya Chakravarty and Vice Principal Sharon Nanda welcoming participants and observing a two-minute silence for the Air India Ahmedabad tragedy. Dr. Sharma introduced the science of stress, its impact on cognitive function, and practical mindfulness techniques such as guided breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and brief classroom meditation breaks.
Dr. Sachdeva guided teachers through time-management frameworks—like task batching and the Eisenhower Matrix—and peer-support protocols to foster mutual accountability. Through role-plays, educators practiced assertive communication with students and colleagues, and explored journaling and digital detox strategies for after-school balance.
Feedback highlighted renewed confidence: many teachers noted immediate relief from guided exercises and pledged to integrate “mindful minutes” into daily routines. Principal Chakravarty affirmed CBSE’s commitment to ongoing in-house training, promising follow-up webinars and subject-specific wellness modules to sustain a healthy learning ecosystem across the region.
