Shimla, May 27, 2025 — Demonstrating remarkable strategic acumen and team excellence, Auckland House School, Shimla, emerged as the overall champion at the CISCE Himachal Pradesh Zone Inter-School Chess Championship 2025, hosted on its campus.
The tournament, organized under the aegis of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), brought together top schools from across the state. Among the participants were Sacred Heart School, Sidhpur (Dharamshala), Auckland House School for Boys, and Auckland House School (Girls).
In an impressive display of dominance, both the Boys’ and Girls’ teams of Auckland House School outperformed all competitors, securing top positions across the board. With this decisive victory, both teams have earned qualification for the upcoming CISCE North Zone Chess Championship.
The event adhered to the rules of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the All India Chess Federation (AICF), with necessary adaptations for local conduct. The host school ensured seamless organization, providing all teams with refreshments and lunch.
