Shimla, February 14 – BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal praised the Union Budget 2025-26, calling it all-inclusive and historic for Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted that Himachal has received four times more financial assistance from the Centre compared to previous Congress-led governments.
Dr. Bindal emphasized the boost to infrastructure, with ₹2,716 crore allocated for railway expansion, surpassing last year’s ₹2,698 crore. The Bilaspur railway line is set to be operational by March 2027, while the Jal Jeevan Mission has been extended to 2028 to enhance drinking water facilities. Schemes like PM Awas Yojana, free ration scheme, and Ayushman Bharat will significantly benefit the state.
For government employees, income up to ₹12.75 lakh is now tax-free, a major relief compared to the ₹2.5 lakh exemption under Congress rule. The state, with nearly 3 lakh government employees and 1 lakh pensioners, will benefit greatly from this change.
Dr. Bindal also criticized the infighting within Himachal Congress, stating that senior leaders are openly questioning their own government, mirroring Congress’s downfall in Delhi. He asserted that Modi government’s budget will propel Himachal towards new heights of development while exposing the failures of the Congress regime.
