Manali, January 23, 2025: A chilling murder took place backstage during the Winter Carnival in Manali as the police were busy managing VIP duties. The victim, 19-year-old Daksh Thakur, was allegedly killed by a close friend during the event at Manu Rangshala. This incident has raised serious questions about the law and order situation in Manali and Kullu, especially as the police were preoccupied with the carnival duties.

According to reports, the two young men had an argument, which escalated into violence. The accused struck Daksh on the neck with a glass bottle, leading to his death. The police launched an immediate search and arrested the accused shortly after the incident. Daksh’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed once the report is received.

Kullu SP, Dr. Gokul Chand Kartikeyan, confirmed the incident, stating that the police were investigating the reasons behind the altercation. However, the SP did not provide details about the accused. This case has raised concerns about transparency, as the Kullu police have been known to withhold certain information in such cases.
