University Committed to Reservation Rules, Dispels False Media Claims

Shimla, Jan 21: The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) has issued a statement to address misinformation being spread through certain social media platforms and media outlets regarding the employment policies for non-teaching staff.

The university reaffirmed its commitment to adhering to government-notified employment and reservation policies, ensuring compliance with SC/ST and OBC rosters for all cadres. Established in 2016 under the Himachal Pradesh National Law University Act, the institution has grown into a premier residential university with approximately 800 students.

Despite its growth, HPNLU highlighted the severe infrastructural challenges it faces, with only three state-provided buildings and the necessity to rent private accommodations for students at significant costs. The university’s operations rely solely on student fees, as no dedicated budgetary allocation has been provided by the state government.

Regarding contractual and daily wage employees, the university clarified that their appointments are based on fixed durations and institutional needs. It emphasized that services automatically conclude at the end of the contractual term, and any re-hiring strictly adheres to legal and financial protocols.

The university strongly condemned false and motivated claims circulating in the media and reiterated its transparent and lawful approach to employment practices.
