Women’s Empowerment Highlighted at Conference in Sunni

Shimla Rural MLA and PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh attended a women’s conference in Sunni, addressing 81 women mandals of the Basantpur block. Singh emphasized women’s vital role in society and announced initiatives for their upliftment, including reserved seats in Panchayati Raj institutions and support for self-help groups.

He inaugurated a new building for the Veterinary Hospital in Sunni, built for ₹30 lakh, and laid the foundation stone for upgrading the Salapar-Tattapani-Sunni-Luhri road at a cost of ₹70 crore. Singh also promised to convert the road into a National Highway.

Other announcements included ₹25 crore for a drinking water scheme in Sunni, efforts to establish a library, and converting Sunni Nagar Panchayat into a municipality. He also inaugurated a ₹2.10 crore community hall at Hanuman Temple.

Additionally, he declared sewing machines and ₹5,000 each for all participating women mandals and a ₹5,000 reward for school performances. Singh assured new bus routes and special buses for Prayagraj.

Present were local representatives, Congress leaders, and officials from various departments.
