Buraansh Wins Himachal Handicraft and Handloom Excellence Award 2025

Shimla-based social enterprise Buraansh has been honored with the “Himachal Handicraft and Handloom Excellence Award 2025” for Digital Innovation by the H.P. Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation.

The award was presented to co-founders Siddharth Lakhanpal and Gautami by Jagat Singh Negi, Minister for Horticulture, Revenue, and Tribal Affairs, and RD Nazeem, Additional Chief Secretary, during the *Him Mahotsava at Dilli Haat, Delhi.

Launched in 2020, Buraansh integrates digital tools to preserve Himachal’s heritage, offering marketing and storytelling for handicrafts. They empower rural communities by selling their products digitally and providing digital marketing training to farmer groups and self-help organizations. Over two years, they’ve trained 250 farmers in digital marketing techniques, including photography and leveraging platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Amazon, with support from NABARD and other institutions.
