Congress Failed to Build a Memorial for Late Narasimha Rao: BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma

Shimla: BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma criticized Congress for not building a memorial for former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. He pointed out that when Rao passed away on December 23, 2004, under Congress rule, his body was not allowed to be kept at Congress headquarters, nor was his cremation conducted in Delhi. Instead, his remains were sent to South India for the final rites.

Sharma questioned why Congress, despite being in power, failed to honor their own leader with a memorial in Delhi. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting former PM Manmohan Singh by tearing up the ordinance and stated that the Gandhi family’s treatment of non-Gandhi prime ministers is well-known and remembered by the public.
