National Mathematics Day Celebrated with FDP Inauguration at JUIT Solan

The Department of Mathematics, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, hosted an inspiring celebration of National Mathematics Day on December 22, 2024. Marking the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the event also inaugurated a week-long online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Data Science in Financial Statistics & Predictive Analysis with R.”
The celebration began with Saraswati Vandana and a welcome address by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Pandey, followed by an overview of the FDP shared by Prof. R.K. Bajaj, Head of the Department of Mathematics. Vice-Chancellor Prof. R.K. Sharma emphasized the significance of the day and its role in encouraging mathematical innovation.
The chief guest, Prof. C.K. Jaggi, delivered the inaugural FDP lecture, introducing the innovative Inventory Relief Chain (IRC) model designed to enhance efficiency in relief operations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, who appreciated the active participation and dedication of all attendees and organizers.
