District-Level Financial Literacy Camp to be Held in Dodra Kwar: Anupam Kashyap

In a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap at the Savings Building Auditorium, it was announced that a district-level financial literacy camp will be organized this October in the remote area of Dodra Kwar, Shimla district. The camp aims to educate local residents about government schemes and banking systems, with participation from district officials and banking representatives.
Kashyap emphasized the need for banking officials to ensure that people benefit from social security schemes, highlighting that by June 2024, over 3.2 lakh individuals had registered under the Prime Minister’s Security Insurance Scheme, and around 1.35 lakh under the Prime Minister’s Life Insurance Scheme.
He also shared updates on various financial growth metrics, indicating an increase in deposits and loans across different sectors. In this quarter, around 214 financial literacy camps have been organized by various banks to inform rural populations about government initiatives.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner recognized a Punjab National Bank officer for outstanding work under the Prime Minister’s Street Vendor Scheme.
