The Legal Aid Clinic of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor (officiating), organized a legal outreach program in four rural wards: Jhundla, Marhaog, Ghandal, and Jakhri in Shimla Rural, H.P, displaying the University’s commitment in providing accessible legal services to the people of the State.

Members of the clinic visited these wards to interact with local residents, raising awareness about the free legal aid services offered by the clinic. The outreach was designed to inform the public about their rights and the support they can receive, particularly those who may not have access to professional legal counsel due to financial or geographical constraints.

During their visits, the team explained how the Legal Aid Clinic at HPNLU can assist with various legal matters, including civil, criminal, and administrative cases, at no cost to the individuals. The clinic, is determined to ensure that justice is available to everyone, especially marginalized communities.

The outreach initiative was met with positive responses as residents expressed their gratitude for the effort. This program is part of the clinic’s broader mission to bring legal awareness and support to the most vulnerable populations in the region. The clinic plans to conduct more such visits in the future to expand its impact under the leadership of its chairperson, Dr. Alok Kumar, Associate Professor of Law.
