Over 20 Lakh Craftsmen Registered Under PM Vishwakarma Scheme: Suresh Kashyap

Shimla: Former BJP state president and MP Suresh Kashyap attended the PM Vishwakarma Pragatika program, marking a year of the initiative aimed at supporting artisans and craftsmen. He reported that over 20,14,293 craftsmen are currently registered under this scheme, which seeks to empower those working in traditional trades.

Kashyap highlighted the scheme’s achievements, including training initiated in 29 states and 504 districts, with 2,640 training centers established. He emphasized that the scheme not only recognizes craftsmen but also enhances their skills and provides financial support. The program aims to reach 30 lakh beneficiaries in 18 traditional trades, offering various benefits including training allowances and collateral-free loans.

He urged the state government to leverage this historic initiative for the benefit of the local populace.
