Shimla, August 25: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur addressed a workshop on the BJP Membership Drive 2024 at the party’s headquarters, Deepkamal Chakkar, and participated as the chief guest in the live broadcast of Prime Minister Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” program.

Jairam Thakur emphasized that “Mann Ki Baat” is one of Prime Minister Modi’s most popular initiatives, boosting morale, especially among IIT Madras students involved in the Startup scheme. He also highlighted the BJP’s status as the world’s largest political party, aiming to enroll 16 lakh members in Himachal Pradesh alone.

Unified Pension Scheme a Major Relief for Employees:
Jairam Thakur expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for implementing the Unified Pension Scheme, calling it a significant step for securing the future of government employees across India. The scheme promises several benefits, including a guaranteed pension of 50% of the last 12 months’ average basic salary for a minimum of 25 years of service, with proportional benefits for shorter service durations.

Addressing the state government’s handling of employee issues, Thakur criticized Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the ongoing unrest among employees over pending promotions, DA, and arrears. He urged the CM to move beyond speeches and provide real solutions, highlighting that under the BJP government, salaries were never delayed, and employee grievances were addressed promptly.

Thakur also announced that the BJP legislative group would hold a meeting to strategize for the upcoming assembly session, focusing on issues like inflation, mismanagement, corruption, and law and order under the current Congress government.
