JUIT Hosts “UDAAN” Workshop on Preventing Substance Abuse

Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, H.P., organized an interactive and skill-based thematic workshop titled “UDAAN – Prevention of Substance Use” on August 7, 2024. The event was conducted by Vyaktitva Foundation in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Education Department. Founded by JUIT alumna Arunima Sharma (Batch 2006-2010), the Foundation aims to address the growing issue of drug abuse among youth.

The workshop focused on the impact of drug addiction and explored the underlying causes and consequences. Key speakers, Mr. Kulpreet Saini and Major Vikas Kadsholi, emphasized strategies for preventing drug abuse. The session was coordinated by JUIT’s Anti-Drug Committee under the guidance of Prof. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Department of Physics and Materials Science. Vice Chancellor Prof. R.K. Sharma honored the speakers at the event, which saw participation from B.Tech students across all streams. JUIT regularly organizes such activities to equip students with essential life skills.
