Students give message of environmental conservation
2 min readDr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, in collaboration with UCO Bank, Nauni, organized a series of engaging competitions as part of its Van Mahotsav drive, aimed at fostering environmental awareness and creativity among students.
The event featured a Declamation Competition centered on the theme ‘Ensuring a Greener Future through Youth Involvement.’ Winners Siya Sharma, Anirudh Thakur, Chavvi Sharma, and Shivali captivated the audience with their powerful oratory skills. Additionally, an Extempore Competition allowed participants to demonstrate their spontaneous thinking and communication abilities, tackling pressing topics such as climate change and the importance of biodiversity. The winners of this competition were Shifali, Sirisha Chauhan, Laqshika Patiyal, and Shaswat. A Painting Competition themed ‘Ek Paudha Maa ke Naam’ showcased the artistic talents of students, with Kumud, Ankita, Yashmi Sharma, and Aashi Sood winning for their evocative artwork that beautifully captured the essence of Van Mahotsav. These competitions not only highlighted the talents of the participants but also ignited a passion for environmental protection among students, providing them with a platform to express their concerns and contribute to a greener future.
University Registrar Narender Chauhan was the Chief Guest during the prize distribution ceremony, commending the creativity displayed by participants on critical environmental issues. He shared several examples to emphasize the importance of conservation and harmonious living with nature. Prizes were awarded to the winners, with Sandeep Sehroy, Manager of UCO Bank Nauni, also congratulating the students for their impactful messages of environmental conservation through their creative efforts. Statutory officers of the university also took part in the event.
