Congress Stalling Development with Malicious Intent, Says Former Assembly Speaker

Dharamshala, July 30, 2024: Former Assembly Speaker and BJP MLA from Sulah, Vipin Singh Parmar, has criticized the Sukhu government for discontinuing the Himcare scheme in private hospitals. Parmar accused the Congress government of mismanagement and acting against public interest, resulting in a significant setback for patients who rely on private hospitals for treatment.

Parmar pointed out that the BJP had introduced the Himcare scheme in 2019 to provide cashless treatment to those not covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, benefiting millions in the state. He condemned the Sukhu government’s decision as a cruel joke on the people of Himachal Pradesh, leading to increased difficulties for patients seeking dialysis and other essential treatments in private hospitals.

Parmar highlighted that the Himcare scheme was operational in 141 private health institutions both within and outside Himachal Pradesh, and in a total of 292 hospitals, including government facilities. He blamed the Congress government’s poor financial management for sacrificing yet another public welfare initiative started by the BJP.

He further accused the Sukhu government of maliciously stalling development projects, leading to a deteriorating state of healthcare services and denying timely treatment to patients.
