 Post-Mortem Yet to Reveal Cause

Dharamshala, February 7: The bodies of a missing young couple discovered in Billing Ghati on February 5 have raised questions as the post-mortem report is still pending. The current information suggests that the deaths of the youth and the woman occurred due to the cold weather. The deceased have been identified as Abhinandan Gupta, a resident of Shivanagar Pathankot, and Pranita Wala from Pune, Maharashtra.

Additionally, Kangra’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Veer Bahadur, confirmed that the couple had left for Billing Ghati from Tech of Point, Bilaspur, in their car on Monday. However, a few kilometers before their destination, they left their car by the roadside and continued on foot towards Billing Ghati. Unfortunately, they never returned. Concerned family members reported them missing when attempts to contact them failed. Therefore, a rescue team was dispatched on Tuesday morning to search for the missing couple.

During the search, the rescue team did not face significant challenges, and the couple’s pet dog, accompanying them, provided crucial assistance with its barking. The dog’s alertness made it easier for the rescue team to locate the bodies. It is reported that the youth’s body had been severely mauled by wild animals, while the woman’s body remained unharmed.

The police, awaiting the post-mortem report, have handed over the bodies to the respective families. Further investigation will be carried out to determine the exact circumstances leading to the deaths after the post-mortem report is received.
