In response to concerns about the proposed ‘Annual Period Based Guest Faculty’ system by the government, Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor (Media) Naresh Chauhan clarified the government’s intentions. Chauhan emphasized that the purpose of the Guest Faculty initiative is to engage the services of meritorious youth in schools, especially in cases where vacant positions are expected to be filled soon, or teachers are on extended leave or have been transferred.
Chauhan, addressing the media, stressed that this arrangement is designed to ensure that students’ education is not disrupted during periods of teacher absence or vacancies in specific schools. He urged the youth to understand the government’s perspective, highlighting that even universities and colleges have provisions for hiring guest faculty.
The Principal Advisor further explained that the Guest Faculty positions are not a form of regular recruitment or permanent posting by the government. Instead, it is a temporary arrangement to hire individuals on a period payment basis to teach students. The aim is to prevent any inconvenience to students when a teacher is transferred or there is a shortage of educators.
Chauhan also mentioned the government’s ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ program, emphasizing the initiative’s goal to connect with residents in rural areas. The program aims to educate people about the state’s schemes and programs, ensuring they benefit from various welfare initiatives. He added that Ministers and MLAs would participate in ‘Gram Sabhas’ to address people’s grievances at their doorsteps.
Highlighting the difference from previous practices, Chauhan assured that these interactions would be simple affairs, avoiding extravagant spending on functions. He compared it to the previous Jan Manch under the BJP regime, criticizing the excessive expenditures on lunch and decorations, leading to embarrassment for officers for political gain. The upcoming interactions would focus on problem-solving and a direct connection with the people.
