Pal Verma Appointed Mandi Zila Parishad Chairman

Mandi, 29 January Roop Lal Kaundal – The glorious victory in the election made Pal Verma bag the command of Zila Parishad Mandi. Elected member Mukesh Chandel has also been appointed as Vice Chairman Mandi ZP. BJP has conferred both young leaders with key posts even though they had contested elections against the party-backed candidate on Bhadiyal and Basa ZP seats.

After the long discussion with party representatives, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur provided the opportunity to Pal Verma, a rebel candidate of BJP supported candidate and former BJYM district president, to lead Zila Parishad Mandi as the Chairman. He had won the election with a good margin and has always contributed with full dedication to party activities.

Other candidates in the race of ZP chairman included BJP leader Bihari Lal from Mummel ward, Vandana Guleria from Griyoh ward, Priyanta Sharma from lower Riwalsar ward. After considering various aspects CM Jairam gave a green signal for appointing Pal Verma as the Chairmanship and Mukesh Chandel as Vice-Chairperson.

8 elected Zila Parishad members including Congress-supported, independent and Marxists have walkout from the election venue blaming BJP leaders for misusing power.

Deputy commissioner Mandi Rugved Thakur confirmed that Pal Verma is appointed as Chairman and Mukesh Chandel appointed as vice chairman of Zila Parishad after the consent of maximum elected members.
