1 min read
Shimla, 19th October 2023: A recent news report regarding a hike in pet registration fees has caused confusion among pet owners and animal welfare activists. However, it is essential to clarify that adopted homeless dogs are eligible for an exemption from the pet registration fee imposed by MC Shimla. President of SPCA Shimla has announced this exemption and is encouraging all pet parents to register their pets.
In a positive move towards cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, MC Shimla is offering an exemption from garbage collection charges to individuals who adopt homeless dogs and ensure their proper registration. The Shimla Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has been actively promoting the adoption of community dogs, alleviating concerns for those who are feeding and adopting them.
President of SPCA Shimla has also made requests to MC Shimla for streamlining the pet registration process, making online registration accessible, and providing the necessary infrastructure and facilities for the practical implementation of “Poop and Scoop” practices.
This initiative aims to promote responsible pet ownership, cleanliness, and the welfare of homeless dogs in Shimla.
