Una, October 6 – The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Board has issued instructions to disconnect power connections for consumers falling under the jurisdiction of the Una-1 electrical sub-division due to non-payment of bills. Board officials have stated that approximately 478 consumers have failed to pay their electricity bills even after the completion of a 60-day grace period.

In response, the board has directed these consumers to clear their electricity bills by October 31st. The board has made it clear that if any consumer does not settle their bill by the specified date, their connection will be disconnected without prior notice.

Additionally, the facility for offline RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) bill payments has been discontinued by the board. Hence, if a consumer opts to pay their bill through RTGS in the name of the Consumer Assistance Engineer’s office, the responsibility for this payment will lie with the consumer.

Kushal Kumar, Assistant Engineer of the Una Electrical Sub-Division, has stated that consumers who have not paid their electricity bills should ensure settlement by October 31st, after which the disconnection process will be initiated by the board.
