Seminar on “Role of Technology in Quality Education” Conducted in Shimla

In collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh government, UPS and Sampark Foundation conducted a seminal seminar on the “Role of Technology in Quality Education today in Shimla. This marked a significant chapter in the flourishing partnership between Sampark Foundation & UPS.

Introduction:
In 2022-23, a transformative journey touched students’ lives in 400 schools across Solan, Hamirpur, and Shimla. This symposium was a beacon of hope and progress, exploring the uncharted territories of teaching and learning, guided by the luminous torch of technology. It was an opportunity to reimagine education, empower our teachers, and nurture a generation of students poised to conquer the challenges of the future. Chief Parliamentary Secretary SH. Ashish Butail, Secretary Education, Sh. Rakesh Kanwar, State Project Director Sh. Rajesh Sharma, Director of Elementary Education Sh. Ghanshyam Chand, District Project officer Sh. Jai Singh Negi and Dr. Manjula Sharma were distinguished guests.
Among the panellist Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Education Department HP University, Dr. sanjay Sharma, Head Master Govt High School Majhrana, Ms. Caroline from UPS, Ms Nisha Sharma were there.

Thematic Discussion:
The symposium unveiled a captivating thematic discussion on the transformative power of technology in Himachal’s education landscape. Esteemed representatives from the Himachal Pradesh government, UPS, and Sampark Foundation converged to sculpt the educational landscape of Himachal Pradesh, harnessing technology as a catalyst for change.

The State Project Director Rajesh Sharma set the tone for the event, leading to a panel discussion featuring esteemed speakers from various backgrounds, including technology experts, university professors, and Sampark Foundation and UPS representatives.

Speakers delved into the profound impact of technology on the educational landscape, explored the fusion of technology and education, and shed light on practical encounters with technology in education.

“At UPS, we’re committed to advancing equity and inclusion, and we are proud to partner with Sampark leveraging technology for education to empower the next generation of leaders,” says Caroline Kiunga, Community Relations Director Indian Subcontinent, Middle East and Africa at UPS.

“Embracing technology in education is pivotal. It enhances learning experiences and bridges gaps, ensuring every student has access to quality education. At Sampark Foundation, we believe technology catalyses educational transformation.” Says Vishwa Bandu, COO, Sampark Foundation.

The event concluded with a symbolic gesture of knowledge sharing by Sampark’s esteemed representative, Vishwa Bandhu (COO of Sampark Foundation), presenting Vineet Nayar’s enlightening book, “Employees First, Customer Second,” to each esteemed panellist. Attendees then delighted in a well-deserved luncheon break, followed by a Teacher Facilitation Session featuring the distribution of Sampark Science TV devices and the acknowledgement of exemplary educators.

Conclusion:
The power of technology was harnessed to cast a luminous path in the educational voyage of our young learners, ensuring a brighter, more enlightened future for all.
