Shimla, Sept 20
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced that the state will create 10,000 new jobs by the end of this year. The results of recruitments for older posts that have not been affected by paper leaks or corruption will be declared within three months.
A new recruitment commission, which will rely on computer-based tests and reduce human intervention as much as possible, will be established in the state. Different sets of question papers will be prepared for the recruitment process. The results of exams will be declared within a week of conducting the test. Senior IAS officers will be appointed as the Chief Administrators, and HPS officers will be appointed as Administrative Officers in the new commission.
Chief Minister Sukhu also stated that the government is working on a system to provide employment to the people of Himachal Pradesh abroad. He emphasized that it is the government’s responsibility to provide employment opportunities to the people of Himachal.
During the assembly session, the issue of corruption in the Staff Selection Commission was raised. The Chief Minister accused the previous BJP government of allowing corruption to flourish through the commission, particularly in police recruitment.
In response, opposition leader Jai Ram Thakur criticized the current government for its delay in announcing recruitment exam results. He argued that the government had taken swift action against corruption during the paper leak controversy but had failed to release results for exams conducted under its own watch, causing distress among the state’s youth. Thakur also questioned the government’s failure to create jobs as promised and emphasized that corruption should not be tolerated in any form.
